Advent Devotional

Advent Devotional (38)

In the days of the Old Testament, the people of God waited for the coming of their Messiah.  Through the words of the prophets they longed to see the One who would bring them hope, peace, joy and love.  As the people of God today, we continue their tradition as we wait for the return of our Messiah to bring wholeness to a broken world.  The season of Advent helps us to live into the experience of the saints of old as we participate with them waiting for the Christ Child to be born - the saviour of the world.  To help us enter into the spirit of Advent and Christmas, the leadership of GCC have produced an Advent devotional for all of us to share in this journey together.  The devotional contains both Old Testament and New Testament stories looking to the birth of the Messiah.  I trust that as we read these scriptures together through the seasons of Advent and Christmas, we will be drawn closer together as we are formed by Christ through His word and through the thoughts and reflections of those who have been given the responsibility to lead us.   May this devotional be a blessing to you this season.

The devotional will be available in this section of the web as the days are coming up. A printed booklet is also available from the church.

Shalom,
Tom Mei
