Lenten Devotional 2016

Lenten Devotional 2016 (48)

Lent is the 40-day period leading up to Good Friday, beginning on Ash Wednesday which, this year, happens to fall on February 10th, the third day of Chinese New Year. Historically the church has used the Lenten season to focus on our Lord's journey to the cross, as well as our willingness to travel with him. Members of our congregation contributed the devotional writings on these pages.  You may use it as a resource in your own walk with the Lord Jesus.

Isaiah 49:1–6; John 13:21–33, 36–38   All genuine disciples of Jesus want to bring glory to God in their lives. But in fact, what does it mean to glorify God? In the passage from John’s gospel, the key is found…
Isaiah 42:1–7; John 12:1–11 In Isaiah 42:1-7, God foretold the coming of His Servant. God not just declared to us who this coming Servant is, but also projected to us how the Servant will serve, and what he is going…
Philippians 2:8–9 Escaping from the finitude of our existence is hard as this universe is destined to be dead in the future. Other cosmic events apart from the coming of Christ would not help and our human physical existence fare even worse…
