What does Christian maturity look like? It is simply about becoming more like Jesus in every way by the power of his Spirit. But there is a cost to this kind of life, the price of which is our death. “Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh…” In this series that will take us to Pentecost, we will be looking at the dynamic of the Spirit’s work in the Christian’s life, and the ways we are shaped in to the image of Jesus, joined with him in death and made in his resurrection.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
